Day by Day Itinerary:  

Day 1:

Arrive in Venice where you will be transferred by private water taxi to your superior tourist class hotel (Villa Igea or similar) where you will stay for 3 nights with breakfast daily. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Dinner on your own at a local resturant.  

Day 2:

Enjoy a full day at leisure in Venice exploring the Duomo at St. Mark's Square and walking along the canals and narrow streets. An optional morning sightseeing tour is available if you wish. Later in the day, enjoy a ride in a gondola (included) and be serenaded venetian style!  

Day 3:

After breakfast, explore more of Venice. You may want an optional tour or explore on your own to visit the Venetian islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello. Murano is known throughout the world for its glass manufacturing industry. Burano is famous for its lace and for its fishermen's houses painted in bright colors. Torcello boasts a cathedral with magnificent mosaics.  

Day 4:

After breakfast at the hotel, you will proceed on your own to the Venice train station to board the train to Verona, city of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. You'll stay at a 4* hotel (Leon d'Oro) for 3 nights with breakast daily. Remainder of day at leisure.  

Day 5:

Breakfast at the hotel. Today, you will go on a morning walking tour of Verona. Of interest is the Arena and the Theatre, dating back from Roman times. In the afternoon, stroll on your own through the streets of Verona, home to one of the world's greatest musical festivals each summer. Look at the interesting architecture throughout this ancient city.  

Day 6:

Day at leisure. You may wish to take a train to visit the city of Padua which boasts the oldest university and a beautiful cathedral. You may wish to rent a car for the day and explore the marvelous countryside of Veneto or explore Lake Garda, not too far from Verona, or visit the spa town of Abano and indulge yourself for the day.

Day 7:

Breakfast at the hotel and early private transfer to the airport in Verona.

Something for those willing to spend at least a night in Verona.  Before dinner, or after one of the many events of the Veronese evening, why not take a walk around city center squares and alleys? Day 1   Departure from the USA on Alitalia Airlines or Lufthansa

Day 2   Upon arrival at Naples Airport, a BellaVista  Tours representative will assist you with your transfer and check-in at the hotel.  Enjoy a welcome cocktail and orientation.  Welcome Dinner 

Day 3   After breakfast, you will meet your guide and board the coach.  You will be taken to the Amalfi harbor and then  continue by ferry to Capri for a full day’s excursion including Anacapri village and Augusto’s Gardens.  In Anacapri you will visit Villa San Michele.  You will return to the hotel in the late afternoon.  Dinner at the hotel.

Day 4   After breakfast, you will board the coach and enjoy a guided  excursion around the Amalfi Coast.  You will stop to visit Ravello and the gardens of Villa Rufolo.  Later, you’ll stop in the charming tour of Amalfi to visit the historical center, Saint Andrea’s Cathedral and the Cloister of Paradise.  Afterwards, continue to Positano for a panoramic view.  In the late afternoon, you will finally arrive in Sorrento where you will have time for shopping and strolling around.  This evening, there will be dinner and music with pianist and singer 

Day 5   After breakfast, you will  visit 2 Limoncello Factories and have a taste of this typical product. Then, you will continue on to  visit a local ‘Pastaio”, where you will be shown different ways of pasta preparation with pasta tasting.  Dinner served in the hotel with a small band who performs  Italian and international songs for listening and for dancing .

Day 6   After breakfast, you will visit a ceramics factory to see how it is produced and watch its decoration by a local ceramic artist.  The rest of the day is free or you can take an optional tour to Pompeii or Naples.

Day 7   Breakfast at the hotel.  Spend a day at leisure or take an optional excursion to Naples and Pompeii, or do some more shopping.

Day 8   After breakfast, weather permitting (which is very likely, you can spend the rest of the morning on the beautiful beach and breathe in the ocean breeze.  In the evening, there will be dinner and dancing at the hotel with a local band in typical Neapolitan costumes which will  be an unforgettable memory of your trip.
The locals will say to you ”Arrivederci” bringing typical cakes and local liqueurs.

Day 9  After an early breakfast, transfer by deluxe motorcoach to  the Airport for your flight   back to USA.

DAY 1 - Depart from Boston or JFK (other gateways possible)

DAY 2 – Sorrento
Upon arrival in Naples, you will be met by your tour leader and will be transferred to your 4* hotel in Sorrento where you will stay for 7 nights.  After having a light lunch, you will have the rest of the day at leisure in bella Sorrento. In the evening you will enjoy a Welcome To Sorrento drink before having dinner in the hotel. (L,D)

DAY 3 – Sorrento
After breakfast, you will embark on a sightseeing excursion of Sorrento including a walking tour of the historical center after which you will tour the beautiful upper hillside region of Sorrento overlooking the water. A light lunch will be provided by a local agriturismo where you will taste homemade wine and have some bruschetta (tasty bread topped with olive oil and fresh tomatoes) and homemade mozzarella cheese.  The afternoon is free at leisure to explore more of Sorrento.  Dinner and overnight at hotel. DAY 4 - Amalfi Drive
After breakfast, you will board the coach and you will have a full day excursion around the Amalfi coast.  You will visit Positano which sits high on the cliffs above the blue water and then head to the small town of Amalfi.  Lunch will be provided and later in the afternoon you will visit Ravello before returning to Sorrento for dinner in the hotel.  Sorrento (BB,L,D)

DAY 5 – Isle of Capri
After breakfast, you will be taken to the port to begin a full day excursion to the magical Isle of Capri.  The trip will include round trip transportation by ferry, a guided tour of the island and lunch. DAY 6 – Vesuvio
After breakfast, you will be taken on an excursion to Vesuvio, Europe's only active volcano, which caused the destruction of Pompeii and Herculaneum in 79AD and has erupted many times since. If you wish, you can take the 20-minute upward hike to the crater which takes you through soft volcanic ash and pumice for the spectacular views from the top. A light lunch will be provided and in the afternoon you will enjoy a wine tasting and visit to Gragnano, a town famous for its pasta making.  Dinner at hotel. Sorrento (BB,L,D)

DAY 7 – Pompeii & Naples
After breakfast, you will be taken inland to go to Pompeii, the city that was covered by volcanic ash in 79AD.  Lunch will be provided.  After visiting the excavations, you will be taken to the city of Naples to see the city, the ports and the Castel dell’Ovo.   Return to the hotel for dinner.  Sorrento (BB,L,D)

DAY 8 – Sorrento

DAY 1
DEPARTURE FROM NEW YORK. Evening departure. Meals and refreshment served on board.

DAY 2
ARRIVE NAPLES. Upon arrival in Naples, you will be met by your English-speaking tour leader. They will then transfer you by motorcoach to your hotel in beautiful Amalfi coast, where you will stay for two nights. The rest of the day is at your leisure to explore this fascinating region. Welcome dinner.

DAY 3
AMALFI COAST. Day at leisure or take an optional tour of the Amalfi coast. After breakfast, enjoy an excursion to the Amalfi coast. Visit Ravello and the gardens of Villa Rufolo. Stop in Amalfi, with visits to the historical center and Saint Andrea's Cathedral and the Cloister of Paradise and then back to the hotel. Dinner at the hotel and Pizza making class.

DAY 4
AMALFI COAST - POMPEII - ROME. After breakfast board your bus for a couple of hours to ride to Rome. On the way you can stop to have an optional tour of Pompeii. After breakfast, you will be taken inland to explore the excavation of Pompeii, the city that was covered by the volcanic ash of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD. After your exploration and lunch on your own, you will be transported to Rome in the evening. Enjoy a walking tour to Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps.

DAY 5
ROME. After breakfast, meet your English-speaking local Guide for a tour of the ancient ruins of Rome, which features the Roman Forum, the Palatine Hill, the Imperial Forum and a visit to the inside of the Coliseum. The rest of the day free to explore Rome on your own. Welcome to Rome dinner in a local restaurant.

DAY 6
ROME. Day at leisure or take an optional tour of the Vatican. After breakfast, meet you English-speaking local guide for a tour of the church of St. Peter in Chain and finally visit the Vatican Museums. The tour highlights the artistic treasures of the Vatican. Visit the vatican Museum and the Art Galleries, the Round Hall, the Hall of the Greek Cross, the tomb of St. Helen and St. Contance, the Gallery of the Tapestries and Geographical Maps. Finally, visit the Sistine Chapel, famed for Michelangelo's frescoes, recently restored to their original colors. Rest of the day free to explore Rome on your own.

DAY 7
ROME - ASSISI - FLORENCE. Early morning departure for Assisi; the mysical town of St. Francis still surrounded by ancient walls. Visit the Basilica of St. Francis with its early Renaissance masterpieces by Giotto and Cimabue. Then on to Florence to your hotel for check-in.

DAY 8
FLORENCE. Breakfast at the hotel. Guided walking tour to one of the most famous cities in the world, cradle of the Italian Renaissance. The tour includes a visit to the magnificent downtown, including the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, with Brunelleschi's splendid Duomo and Baptistry with the famous bronze doors, Giotto's Belfry, Piazza della Signoria, with the Great Loggia, the Museum af the Academy with the statue of David by Michelangelo and the Ponte Vecchio. Afterwards, explore on your own the other charming streets and markets of Florence.

DAY 9
FLORENCE - SIENA - SAN GIMIGNANO - FLORENCE. Day at leisure or take an optional tour of the Tuscan countryside. After breakfast at the hotel, board the bus for a drive through the landscape of Chianti which leads to the city of Siena. You will be immersed in the medieval character surrounding this important city. Visit the Cathedral, the Church of St. Francis, the Church of St. Domenico and the Town Hall. After a visit to a Chianty Winery/Castle with wine tasting and lunch, continue on to the town of San Gimignano, perched on a hilltop and noted for its famous towers. Late afternoon return to your hotel in Florence. Farewell dinner at Il Latini.

DAY 10
DEPARTURE FROM FLORENCE. Transfer to Florence airport and depart on return flight to the USA.
